Grant Writing I

This introduction to grant writing focuses on local foundations and corporations, using actual guidelines from funders and actual proposals for review and critique. We review the critical process of researching funders to match funding opportunities with your nonprofits' programs and activities, and we discuss strategies for approaching funders. We cover the essential elements of a proposal, including need statement, program design, evaluation, and the budget, with a particular emphasis on stewardship and reporting. Note: This class does not address government grants, research grants, or grants to individuals.
