Courting the Media

Did your last press release go unnoticed?  Are you unsure how to get the media interested in your programs and events?  If so, then this course in media relations will help you develop good story angles and land coverage.  Learn how to promote your story ideas, write releases and develop lasting relationships with local media outlets.  Hear from a local reporter on how to pitch ideas and how newsrooms select stories.  We'll identify easy ways to start obtaining news stories and interviews on your nonprofit.   Through interactive exercises and real-life examples you'll leave prepared for your next interview and excited to pitch your next story idea to the media.  (This class focuses on newspaper, TV, radio and online news coverage and does not include Social Media Promotion.)
